It’s that time of year again. Every winter, me and all my friends seem to be reevaluating our healthy living and weight loss goals. No surprise there, considering it’s natural to crave comfort foods during the cold winter months. And once the holidays arrive, there are even more temptations around. While it’s totally possible to eat healthy comfort food, I always make poor choices. You know, the ones that pack on a few extra pounds! Maybe the cold-weather timing isn’t coincidental and my body is just craving those fresh foods it had all summer long. No matter the reason, we can help you get back on track with this simple but effective Cleanse & Detox Smoothie.

Ingredients

  • 1 organic apple
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 stalk or rib of celery
  • 1/3 cup flat leaf parsley or cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds or chia seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 cups chilled water
